​My name is Adam Brett Schwartz. I am a photographer from Chicago, Illinois. I am often inspired by my surroundings, wherever I may be in this world, and enjoy the challenge of creating artistic photographs.

​

I studied photography throughout high school and learned its history as well as how to shoot film with an SLR and manually process both film and prints in a darkroom. These processes have made me appreciate photography as an art form that requires knowledge, precision, timing, and of course some luck. I have since joined the 21st century and moved on to digital photography. I try my best to keep the images as true to their original state as possible, however I do enjoy experimenting with different techniques to transform my photos into unique and captivating graphic art pieces. I have photojournalism experience as a photographer for both a newspaper and a magazine. I have also freelanced as a real estate photographer. See CONTACT section for inquiries.

​About ABS Photography​

Over the years, I have developed a body of work with an eye-catching aesthetic emphasizing simplicity and modernity. I have also been fortunate enough to travel to many different countries. As you will see from my portfolio, my goal when I travel is to be able to tell a story and capture the essence of the location in a set of photographs. My favorite subjects include landscapes, wildlife, architecture and people.

Nowadays, everyone takes pictures with point and shoot cameras and cell phone cameras. What gives me the right to consider my images artistic photographs and not just normal pictures? I have learned, practiced, and developed a photographic eye for both the ordinary and the extraordinary aspects of life. I feel very connected to my photographs because they are a form of self-expression. The camera is only a tool in my hands much like a painter with his brush. With some of my images you’ll know exactly what you’re looking at the second you see them, while others may be more abstract and mysterious.
